Go-Ahead London is seeking a passionate and driven Training & Development Manager – iBus to lead the performance training strategy for our iBus Operations team. This pivotal role is ideal for a highly capable training professional with a strong understanding of performance management, operational improvement, and people development.

You will design and deliver a robust training and feedback programme that underpins our mission to provide reliable, safe, and efficient transport services. Working closely with Area and Senior Performance Managers, you will embed a culture of accountability, humility, and continuous improvement across our network.

The Role:

Reporting to the Network Performance Manager, you will:

  • Design and lead the onboarding and induction training for new iBus Controllers.
  • Build and manage development pathways for Performance Managers at all levels.
  • Deliver structured observation and feedback programmes to support staff performance.
  • Champion a culture of professional learning, fostering high standards across all locations.
  • Use data and KPIs to identify trends, shape training content, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Conduct training quality audits and ensure learning materials are up-to-date and inclusive.
  • Act as a change agent, working with operational leaders to implement best practice and performance transformation.

What We’re Looking For:

Essential:

  • A relevant degree from a top-tier university.
  • Proven experience in coaching, mentoring, or training staff in high-performance environments.
  • A deep understanding of how technology and data support workforce development.
  • Confident communicator with experience delivering group training and 1:1 coaching.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple training projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in driving performance improvement through learning interventions.
  • Skilled at working with data to inform development strategies.

Desirable:

  • Experience designing and delivering structured training programmes, ideally in transport, operations, or a regulated environment.
  • Experience implementing performance management or quality assurance frameworks.
